UV Lounge a Resounding Success at GRAPH EXPO
In its second year running, Air Motion Systems rolled out the "UV Lounge" - the industry's premier gathering place to connect and share in the growth and excitement of UV printing
October, 2006 - GRAPH EXPO, McCormick Place, Chicago — In its second straight year, the "UV Lounge" (www.uvlounge.com) sponsored by Air Motion Systems was rolled out at North America's largest trade show for the Graphic Arts community, showing once again how innovation leads to success.
The UV Lounge was created by AMS as a one-of-a-kind industry gathering place where ideas, knowledge, successes and peer connections flourish, and where customers, OEMs and accessory manufacturers can share in the excitement of UV printing as it continues to grow as a value-added technology in the industry. "We were amazed at the turnout at Graph Expo this year, and the interest in AMS, the UV Lounge, and our products and services was at an all-time high" noted Steve Metcalf, President and CEO of Air Motion Systems.
"Multiple customers and prospects who joined us shared their plans to expand into more UV printing with exciting configurations, and the feedback we received as an American company serving the industry was phenomenal" remarked Metcalf. "It validated the approach we have taken of listening to customers first, then responding with technology and service innovations that can truly help transform the industry".
At the show, Air Motion Systems took the opportunity to announce new milestones and a record year of achievements. Over 400 Peak UV units, the company's flagship UV system, are now installed at leading printing and packaging customers throughout North America. "Demand for our systems is greater than ever" noted Hans Ulland, AMS Co-founder and Vice President of Sales. "We are also excited to be serving new OEMs, such as Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses, and are thrilled about our growth prospects in this arena, as well as our ongoing business of retrofitting current presses."
Air Motion Systems customers are also seeing record results with UV. New customers revealed at the show include Renaissance Mark, who recently broke a speed record for curing with AMS Peak UV on a 40-Inch Mitsubishi Diamond 3000, Shorewood Packaging on a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD102, Unimac Graphics and Trojan Litho on large format KBA Rapidas, National Posters and Lithographix on KBA super large 205s, and Colonial Carton and Cedar Graphics on 40-Inch Rapidas. "We couldn't be more pleased with the successes our customers are achieving and to hear their stories and enthusiasm for our products was exhilarating" remarked Ulland.
"Our plans for the coming year are to continue expanding in our core market in the US and Canada, further our OEM relationships and begin delivering our first systems overseas through the launch of our 3rd generation Peak UV system" noted Metcalf. "We are confident at this point that the technology and service model we have introduced to the North American market will be well-received in other parts of the world".
Air Motion Systems plans to continue the unique tradition established with the UV Lounge and is already planning on a larger exhibit space at the PackPrint 2007 show in Chicago.
