Chilling With Your UV
"Amazing Growth has Greeted UV Print Popularity, Quickly Penetrating Commercial and Packaging Markets, and now Entering Coldset Web" - Graphic Arts Monthly, June 2006
May 22, 2006 - Graphic Arts Monthly, Product Spotlight (June 2006 Issue) — Air Motion Systems, Inc. announced that its patented Cool Impressions™ system - a key accessory for printers working with plastics and other heat-sensitive substrates - was highlighted along with the industry-leading Peak UV™ curing system in the June edition of Graphic Arts Monthly.
In the article entitled "Chilling With Your UV to Hold Register on Plastic Substrates", the AMS Cool Impressions system was noted for its ability to combat heat buildup on cylinders and the ensuing loss of register that can occur when printing on plastics.
According to the article, "UV ink is also popular for printing on plastics, since the inks cure instantly through the chemical reaction with the light. But plastics are prone to expand as they warm up.... To combat such problems, Air Motion Systems introduced the Cool Impressions System", a system that is "catching on in combination with its own Peak UV systems and in conjunction with competitors' systems as well."
