Air Motion Systems Awarded $250,000 I94 Technology Zone Tax Credit

Governor Jim Doyle and new Secretray of Commerce, Richard Leinenkugel, vist Air Motion Systems to to award AMS with the I94 Technology Zone Tax Credit
River Falls, WI, October 6th, 2008 - Governor Jim Doyle recently visited Air Motion Systems' newly contructed site in River Falls, WI and praised AMS as "just the type of high-tech firm that will make a difference".
"It's so important to get back to the basics," Doyle told a crowd of about 75 people. "We need an economy that actually makes things".
Governor Doyle was accompanied by his new Secretary of Commerce, Richard Leinenkugel with whom he presented AMS owners Steve Metcalf and Hans Ulland a ceremonial check which signified the $250,000 in tax credits that AMS will receive for building within Wisconsin's "Technology Zone".
After their remarks, both Governor Doyle and Secretary Leinenkugel met with AMS staff, local business owners, local politicians, and listened attentively as Hans Ulland demonstarted how AMS' P3 UV Curing System works, on a printing press in the building's lobby.
AMS relocated from Arvada, Colorado, in early August, occupying a 3.5 million, 36,000 square-foot energy-efficient building in the River Falls Whitetail Ridge Business Park on the city's north side.
The city of River Falls offered AMS an incentive package that includes $300,000 worth of land and and roughly $100,000 in site improvements. Over the next decade the city will recover its investment through tax-increment financing. The developer's agreement also commits AMS to generating 15-20 new full-time jobs over the next five years. Within its first 2 months of operation in River Falls, AMS has created 14 new full-time jobs.
Currently, AMS is awaiting a high level of LEED certification for its building. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is a third-party certification program created by the U.S Green Building Council.
